Just send me pills so I won't tilt when I lose. Tracer's tagging outfit turned out to be great too. Steampunk Jazz Lucio is really fantastic frankly.

Beduin Pharah is awesome, really grew on me once I played it.

Soldier skin has grown on me as long as I don't look at his feet. Hanzo skin is one of his best, if not THE best. Although the gun is cool and it looks okay from the first person view. I admire that much dedication to a bad pun, but it makes for a bad skin.

All that artist time JUST TO MAKE THE PUN. Zarya is a bad pun (Cyberia, really?) at heart and the look suffers for it. I'm going to have to buy Genji I think, but the super sentai look really works on him. The mid-century modern pistol by itself is so great! It's an incredible skin, fast on the heels of the police skin, which was also incredible. I second the suggestion that the whole line-up get the D.Va. I'm about 100 coins away from buying the last two skins I need from this event and then I'll see how I feel then.Īll of the above said, the skins for this event have mostly been fantastic. I shouldn't be this unhappy doing something that's supposed to be fun, you know? That's probably on me, but it's true. It's just getting steam-rolled by premades match after match is brutal.Īnyway, I'm thinking of quitting or reducing gameplay dramatically soon. Basically, I wish this game were a little more of an MMO, like Destiny? I really love the mechanics and the art direction and the world-building. I think the most fun I have in this game is emoting at each other or putting on a swan lake performance with widow in waiting mode. A lot of the voice lines and emotes are already there. I sincerely wish they had a strong pve co-op mode with a good story (that maybe requires a little less constant firing than their recent co-op modes), or even some weird social mode? Like, my weirdest thought is that this game would work as a non-violent social space. I think this game is meant to be played with friends in a group so losing doesn't feel so bad but none of my friends play this game and I'm shit at making friends online. Not that other players are so bad, just that I win 1/5 or worse solo and that's not fun. Solo-queueing is frequently an exercise in frustration.

It's not like NA comp is worthless, there's lots of interesting unique strategies coming out of NA, but it feels like compared to Korea they're getting held back by a general lack of professional and flexible thinking. But then they go compete in Apex or other international tourneys and just get destroyed by Korean teams that have specific team comps and strategies just for 2CP maps. Like NA teams basically all just decided that 2CP sucks and they're not going to practice it, which works in NA against other teams that do the same thing. Maybe it's because a lot of OW NA pros are coming from other shooters, but a lot of NA teams seem super prideful, they pick one or two comps and stick with it no matter what, even if it's not working or they're getting outplayed. But Korea seems so much more sophisticated in how they're approaching the game on its own terms. It's not as if there's a mechanical skill gap between korea and NA, if anything I'd pick NA/EU players as the best at their individual heroes for most picks, except for like Miro on Winston and Ryu on Ana. Here's hoping that NA and EU teams step up to the challenge, because a global league is going to be dominated by Korean teams at this rate. They have multiple strategies for each map and point, and make changes mid-match that work. The biggest change for Envy has been their work outside of matches, and it shows. The coordination, flexibility, and strategy of the Korean scene is light years better, because they treat this like an actual sport and job. Teams like Selfless can get by with superior mechanical skill and shitty ult management but they'd get absolutely steamrolled by Korean teams (cough Rogue cough). No offense to the NA and EU scenes, but the general level of play in Korea is so much higher, it can be tough to watch tourneys other places. The impact of single player changes (weirdly supports this season, demonstrating the importance of support play) along with coaching improvements have really upped the overall level of matches. All of those teams are amazing and have distinct styles. LW Blue, Kongdoo Panthera, Lunatic Hai, and AF Blue (or any combination thereof, honestly. Playing against him must be epically frustrating, like chasing air that murders you the moment you turn the wrong way. Also Effect is the nuts those poor supports got blown up constantly. I particularly loved Taimou's EMP into an immediate Earthshatter followed by a 'nade. On the upside, Envy seems to be back, with their awesome Earthshatter combos.
